About

Hello & Welcome to Holistic Nerd!

My name is Martina and I’m a UK-based registered nutritionist (AfN) with a master’s degree in Nutrition (MSc). As you might have guessed I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to everything about nutrition, health & fitness.

Since I was able to successfully reverse my PCOS through dietary and lifestyle modifications, I became fascinated with the power of holistic, functional and person-centered approaches to health.

My aim with this site is to provide you with all the information you need to take control of your own wellbeing and make informed decisions when changing your lifestyle.

All my content is based on the latest scientific evidence (accessible from the ‘Resources’ section under each post) as well as my personal experience to give you the best tips and tools that may help improve your life.

My approach:

  • Holistic – considering the whole person and all biopsychosocial factors affecting health & wellbeing (everything is connected)
  • Functional – focusing on identifying and addressing the root cause
  • Sustainable – thinking long-term & recognising the importance of maintainable habits for life rather than quick fixes & extreme restrictions
  • Continuum-based – recognising that everything lies within a continuum and needs to be considered in context (no black and white/all or nothing/ good or bad thinking)
